Jake and Mariah met while in college at Minnesota State University - Mankato almost 6 years ago and upon meeting them I could instantly tell how much they adore each other. Jake proposed on Christmas Eve, surrounded by family, by handing Mariah a present for their dog. When she opened it, she found a dog collar that said “Will You Marry Me” and she was shocked! What a romantic proposal!
Jake is a police officer and Mariah works for Colon Cancer Coalition as the events manager for their 5K races. Both of them clearly care about serving others, raising awareness, enjoying the outdoors, and spending time with their dogs. Hiking and camping are high on their list of activities they enjoy together, making them a perfect match for a Willow River State Park engagement session. It seems autumn is a special time of year for them, since their wedding will be in October 2020, just shy of 1 year after their engagement session.
