Ty and Melanie booked me for their Midwest wedding in 2020, but within a few weeks they decided that the stress of wedding planning was something they wanted to say NO to. So, they took me along to the beautiful island of Oahu for their elopement just 3 months later!
Since there wasn’t enough time to squeeze engagement photos in here in the midwest, we decided to do their engagement session in Hawaii the day before they said “I do.” Planning things with these two was really fun and care-free. With the plethora of locations on the island of Oahu, we narrowed it down to Kualoa Regional Park and Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens. I loved both so much I took my husband back before we left :)
Think bringing along your photographer to your elopement/destination wedding is too expensive? Wrong! Instead of hiring someone you don’t know just because they live where you’re going, especially if you’re not crazy about their work or don’t know their personality, consider asking your beloved photographer if they are willing and available to follow you to your destination. These kinds of sessions are special, unique, life-giving, and can be creatively spectacular and many photographers would jump at the chance to serve you with so much meaning. I know I would :)
“Eloping in Hawaii was one of the best decisions my husband and I ever made.
