Aaron + Kristen | An Apple Orchard Engagement Session in October | Hastings MN Engagement + Wedding Photographer

I met with Aaron and Kristen for their engagement session in Hastings MN on a windy day in October. Aaron is an engineer and fitness fanatic and Kristen is a NICU nurse and they live in Hudson, WI. They were so fun and sweet and I really enjoyed getting to know them!

The Midwest is known for apple orchards in the fall so naturally, we started at Whistling Well Farm amongst the apple trees before frolicking in a meadow overlooking the St Croix River that separates Wisconsin and Minnesota. I loved their choice of outfits, especially Kristen’s dresses – I think any excuse to get all dressed up, including engagement photos, is a win! They looked like models on the cover of a romance novel at one point….just so much yes!

Aaron and Kristen are planning a small, intimate Alaskan wedding in 2019. Was I secretly hoping they’d fly me out there? YES! The offer still stands guys! LOL! In all honesty, I’m so happy these two are planning their wedding how they want, where they want, when they want. It’s really important to remember what your wedding day is all about and for a lot of people, all the fluffy stuff and intricate details can just get in the way of the real meaning and purpose. I often think that if I could, I would do my wedding day all over again and leave a lot of stress behind.
